This page covers common questions about the Amori iOS app — accounts, journaling, Amori+, and privacy.

1. Contact

2. Creating an account & signing in

  • You can register with email and password, or use Sign in with Apple
  • If you register with email, confirm your address from the message the app sends before signing in
  • Forgot your password? Use Forgot password on the sign-in screen

Open the reset link on a phone you're already signed in on where you can. That's how Amori carries

your encrypted notes across to the new password. If you can't, you'll be asked for your recovery

code — see Section 3.

3. Your recovery code

Please save your recovery code now, before you need it.

Open Profile → Recovery code, write the code down, and keep it somewhere safe — a password manager, or paper in a drawer.

Amori encrypts your notes, voice notes, and photos with a key that only you hold. That's what keeps

your journal private, and it has one consequence worth understanding clearly:

  • If you forget your password but have your recovery code, you can unlock your journal again
  • If you forget your password and don't have your recovery code, your notes, voice notes,

and photos cannot be opened again — by anyone, including me. Resetting the password

starts a fresh journal, and the earlier entries stay sealed

I am sorry to be blunt about this. There is no back door and no master key, which is exactly why

nobody else can read your journal either. If you write to me after losing both, I genuinely cannot

recover the entries — so please save the code, and export your journal now and then (Section 8).

4. Daily check-ins & moments

  • Pick a mood, and optionally add a note, a voice note, tags, or a photo
  • A day can hold more than one moment. If the morning was hard and the evening

was easier, log both — open the day and tap Add a moment

  • Each moment keeps the time it was logged, so a day reads in order
  • Tap any moment to edit it; press and hold to favorite or remove just that one
  • Favorites are per moment, so one good hour inside a hard day can be kept on its own
  • Your Feelings calendar shows the moods you've logged, with a dot for each moment in a day

5. Finding an old entry

Tap the magnifying glass on the Feelings tab to search your journal. Search looks

through your notes, tags, and moods, and it ignores accents and capitals. It all happens on your

device — your notes are encrypted on my servers, so there is nothing there to search.

6. Locking Amori

  • Turn on Profile → Privacy to require Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode before Amori opens
  • The check is done by iOS. Amori never sees your face, fingerprint, or passcode — only a yes or no
  • If Face ID doesn't recognize you, you can always use your device passcode instead
  • The option only appears if your device has a passcode set, since there would be nothing to fall back on without one

7. Widget, reminders & appearance

  • Add the Amori check-in widget to your Home Screen or Lock Screen to see whether

today has an entry. It shows only that — never a mood or a note

  • Gentle daily reminders are optional and scheduled on your device. Turn them on or off in Profile

(or iOS Settings → Notifications → Amori)

  • Press and hold the reminder to log a mood straight from it
  • Amori follows your device's appearance, so it dims to a softer palette at night automatically

8. Exporting your journal

Profile → Export my journal gives you an archive of everything: your entries as both

a machine-readable file and a readable document, together with your voice notes and photos, decrypted

and ready to keep or move elsewhere.

It works with or without Amori+, and it's worth doing occasionally — it's your own copy, independent

of your password.

9. Amori+

Amori+ is optional. Your daily check-in stays available without a subscription.

  • Amori+ unlocks extras such as soft insights, monthly & yearly recaps, and photo keepsakes
  • Subscribe in the app through Apple's purchase sheet
  • Manage or cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device
  • Billing, renewals, and refunds are handled by Apple

If Amori+ doesn't unlock after purchase, try restarting the app, then email me with the Apple ID used for the purchase.

10. Sync & devices

When you're signed in, your journal syncs across your devices.

  • Notes, voice notes, and photos are sealed on your device before syncing
  • If something looks missing on another device, confirm you're signed into the same account and give the app a moment to sync
  • If a note shows as locked, that device doesn't hold the key yet — sign in with your password there, or use your recovery code
  • Keep Amori up to date on every device you use. Older versions can stop syncing when the app changes how entries are stored

11. Deleting entries or your account

  • You can edit or remove a single moment, or a whole day, from within the app
  • To permanently delete your Amori account and journal data, use the delete-account option in Profile

Amori+ subscriptions are managed separately in Apple Subscriptions — deleting your Amori account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Consider exporting your journal (Section 8) before deleting your account, since deletion cannot be undone.
